DP Martial Arts is a traditional martial arts school teaching from kids to adults in Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts and now Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Sensei Doug, owner and head coach at DP, is also an American Top Team Certified Instructor and a high level martial artist in his styles.

On August 24th, Best Way BJJ held its first Team Training event at the Best Way BJJ school in Tiverton, RI. All Best Way students were invited to come, meet and train with their teammates from all of our Best Way schools. We had 86 students training from 7pm-9pm. The event was a huge success and the next Best Way BJJ Team Training event will be on November 2, 2010 at our Best Way BJJ affiliated school Absolute Martial Arts from 7pm-9pm. All Best Way BJJ students are invited and we hope to see you all there. The last edition of our tournament gathered over 80 competitors in a great day of training and competiti0n. When you compete in our tournament you have a chance to improve your skills in a nice and friendly enviroment.

It is like going to a cross training day between teammates that you don’t know. It is a great way to check what you have to improve, what you do best and more important: to just have fun!

We will run the tournament the same way as before: pre-registration only, brackets will be posted 48 hours before the event as well as all schedule of fights.

What to expect from our Grappling Seminar

We designed this seminar to provide a solid and well structured grappling curriculum covering the basics including: sweeps, guard passes, submissions, and defenses whether you are just a student, a school owner or instructor.

Not only, will we also teach how to conduct a grappling class explaining each phase involved during the training sessions such as warm up and support exercises particular to grappling, stretching, and techniques.

We would like to share our philosophy with all participants. We are a team dedicated to form not only competitors and fighters but a community where our students discover the benefits of living a healthier life through a realistic martial art.

Certification

All participants will receive a Diploma and the right to use our “Best Way BJJ Certified” Seal in your school.

Also, all techniques will be included in a DVD that will be offered to all participants.

Congratulations to all of our Best Way competitors who competed at Grapplers Quest on Saturday, July 24th. Instructor Mike Deluca took First Place in his brown belt division and took Second Place in the Absolute brown belt division as well. Mike Panini and Joe Venti won First Place in their blue belt divisions while Cedric Carvalho and Steve Lyons both won First Place in their white belt divisions. Mike Deeb from The Center Martial Arts and Best Way BJJ Bridgepor took first in the Advanced No-Gi division and in the No-Gi Absolute division. Congratulations to all of our competitors!!!
